Baseload Generation

What is Balance of Power?

Keeping the lights on, that’s what we do; however, to “keep your lights on,” it takes a Balance of Power approach. We want you – our members – to help tell the co-ops story about what it takes to keep the lights on!

Baseload Generation

Baseload generation refers to power plants that provide a steady and constant production of electricity to meet the minimum level of demand. Baseload power plants use coal and natural gas. Day or night, they are dependable workhorses that generate power consistently.

“When I’m working an outage in the middle of the night, we need reliable generation to restore the power to your home or business. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to do my job.”
